On March 2nd, the big day finally arrived. At MartiniPlaza in Groningen, Jazz (Green Valley Stars Quincy) entered the international dog show where the titles Holland Cup and a Crufts qualification were up for grabs. The adventure began in an underground parking lot filled with dogs and kennels on wheels.
At the entrance, tickets were scanned, and visitors could purchase a ticket for 10 euros. There were various halls with rings where the breed groups were judged. Between the rings, space was reserved for the exhibitors and their dogs. There were also stands selling dog supplies such as food, leashes, beds, vet bedding, toys, treats, and grooming materials.
Since it was our first show, we didn’t know exactly what to expect. We decided to be present for the start of the judging at 9:30 AM, even though Jazz was scheduled for 11:50 AM. Living just 1.5 km away from the venue, we thought we might head home if it became too much for Jazz, but leaving the venue with the dog was no longer allowed. Outside, special potty areas with grass sods and straw bales had been set up for the dogs. Arriving early gave us plenty of time to find a spot to sit and set up the kennel. Jazz handled the new impressions well, surrounded by many dogs, people, smells, and noise. Our excitement grew as she headed to ring 11, where Group 7 was being judged.
Jazz stayed beautifully focused on Ruben and stood perfectly still in the ring. She presented herself well and allowed the judge to examine her with ease. With pride, she achieved the following results under honorable judge Rinie Leenen-Compen (NL):
Excellent 1 – Junior Class
CAC
FCI-CACIB-J
BOS
Holland Cup Junior Winner 2024
Holland Cup Winner 2024
Crufts Qualification
We are incredibly proud of her! A day and debut we will never forget!
